PT Astra International Tbk and its subsidiaries, announced that the company’s net profit during the record 2009 of Rp 10.04 trillion or an increase of 9 percent instead of 2008 amounted to Rp 9.19 trillion.

Corporate net income last year reached Rp 98.5 trillion, higher than the same period in 2008 of Rp 97.06 trillion. Meanwhile, corporate profits rose 7 percent to 12.75 trillion in 2009 compared to 11.87 trillion for 2008.

Thus, the net profit during 2009 the company recorded Rp 10.04 trillion, or an increase of 9 percent from 2008 amounting to Rp 9.19 trillion. This figure is the highest record in the history of the company. Earnings per share rose 9 percent to USD $ 2480 from the previous USD 2270 per share.

“Astra Group booked a very good performance in the year 2009,” said Executive Director of the Presidential Task Astra, Priyono Sugiato in Jakarta. Priyono said the success is remarkable because it was ongoing global crisis that started happening since Fourth-quarter 2008.
