Sebanyak 16.337 murid SMA/MA/SMK se-Jawa Timur tidak lulus Ujian Nasional 2010 dari total peserta sebanyak 344.908 murid. Jumlah murid yang gagal itu berarti naik dibanding UN 2009 yang hanya 15.089 murid.

Mayoritas murid yang tidak lulus adalah dari SMK. Sesuai pengumuman Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Timur, Sabtu (24/4/2010), sebanyak 9.782 murid atau 7,072 persen murid SMK tidak lulus, dari total peserta 138.313 murid.

Adapun angka ketidaklulusan tertinggi untuk Madrasah Aliyah (MA) adalah program keagamaan. Yang gagal mencapai 135 atau 8,54 persen dari 1.580 peserta.

Untuk SMA, angka ketidaklulusan tertinggi adalah program bahasa, dari total 2.747 peserta, 212 murid atau 7,72 persen tidak lulus.

Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Jatim Suwanto menambahkan, 16.337 siswa SMA/MA/SMK yang tidak lulus itu belum tentu gagal UN karena hasil nilai UN akan dipadukan dengan hasil ujian sekolah (US). “Nilai gabungan itulah yang akan jadi pertimbangan dalam sidang dewan guru untuk menentukan siswa lulus atau tidak,” kata Suwanto.
